From the 1946 film “Throw a Saddle On a Star”
Words and music by Andy Parker and Hank Caldwell
The sheet music:
Lyrics
Throw a saddle on a star
Tie your dreams to a rainbow
All the clouds and the rain go
When the stars break thru
Throw a saddle on a star
There’ll be sunshine tomorrow
All the troubles you borrow
Will disappear from view
And if the dream that you’ve been dreaming
Should ever fade with the dawn
Don’t let it stop you from dreaming
There’ll be starlight when daylight is gone
Throw a saddle on a star
All the clouds have gone over
There’ll be sunshine and clover
Along the trail for you
