Lyrics
Life is so filled with confusion
Sometimes it’s bitter to take
I’ve come to this sad conclusion
The whole thing’s a terrible fake
Refrain:
It’s a cruel, cruel world
Such a cruel, cruel world
A boy meets a girl and she sits on his lap
She never gets hungry, she’s setting a trap
But oh, how she eats when se marries the sap
It’s a cruel, cruel world
Refrain:
It’s a cruel, cruel world
Such a cruel, cruel world
A boy and a girl all alone picking flowers
They’re hugging and kissing for hours and hours
Along comes her brother, they have to pic flowers
It’s a cruel, cruel world
Refrain:
It’s a cruel, cruel world
Such a cruel, cruel world
A boy loves a girl, she’s the best girl he’s known
Then they have a fuss and she calls on the phone
She sends back the ring, ah, but she keeps the stone
It’s a cruel, cruel world
Refrain:
It’s a cruel, cruel world
Such a cruel, cruel world
You can’t by potatoes, the price is too high
You can’t buy an egg though you try and you try
It’s so hard to live, it’s a pleasure to die
It’s a cruel, cruel world
Refrain:
It’s a cruel, cruel world
Such a cruel, cruel world
Two rabbits got on a jet plane and took off
They traveled so fast that before you could cough
Two rabbits got on and two rabbits got off
It’s a cruel, cruel world
