Lyrics
I got over ev’ry trouble that would bother me,
Measles, mumps and whooping cough
The grippe and housemaid’s knee.
All of life’s big events leave me quite blasé.
But one thing still gives me a thrill, ev’ry single day:
Refrain:
Oh! I can’t get over a girl like you loving a boy like me.
I keep pinching my arm to see if it’s true.
I’ve pinched and I’ve pinched till I’m all black and blue.
Then I look in the glass to see what you see in me.
I know there’s not much to see. Gee!
I’m so afraid, dear you’ve made a mistake.
Please marry me, dear, before I awake.
For I can’t get over a girl like you loving a boy like me.
Verse 2:
There’s eight wonders in this world
So all the wise men state
Eiffel Tow’r, Niagr’a Falls
And six more make the eight.
Ev’ry book that I read says that this is so.
But they have left one wonder out, why I do not know:
