From the 1948 film “Bill and Coo”
Words and music by Royal Foster, David Buttolph and Lionel Newman
The sheet music:
Lyrics
Life is a series of complications
Some right, some wrong
When things don’t measure up to expectations
Don’t let it make you blue
Here’s a remedy for you
Chorus:
Hum a little tune like lovebirds do
Live a honeymoon your whople life through
All you cares take wing if you can sing
And learn to bill and coo
Every winter day will seem like June
And on rainy nights you’ll find a moon
If you try a song you can’t go wrong
So why not hum a little tune
If you will hum even some simple melody you make up
And take it to sleep with you
You’ll feel better when you wake up
You will never meet the things you fear
You can make the grey clouds disappear
There’ll be skies of blue throughout the year
If you will hum a little tune
